On behalf of our staff and pupils, I would like to warmly welcome you to Evolve Academy’s website. Evolve Academy is a well-established alternative provision in Wakefield, specialising in supporting KS2 and 3 pupils with SEMH needs.
At Evolve Academy, we believe that all pupils deserve the opportunity to be supported in their re-engagement with learning and school life through a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment where the curriculum is personalised to meet the differing needs and interests of all our pupils. Our staff pride themselves on offering a nurture-based approach and educational offer that supports pupils and their families to ensure they achieve positive outcomes and are ready to move on to further success in their next educational setting.

Amazon donated Roald Dahl books for our pupils at Evolve.
They have donated £1500 to support in purchasing some benches for our outside area and we are working collaboratively to improve our outdoor facilities at Evolve.

This week some of our KS3 student's have been focusing on new vocabulary linking to our core text 'The boy in striped Pyjamas'.
We looked at the definitions, and how we can apply them into everyday use.
In English this morning we have been using our online digital literacy platform @BedrockLearning to support our grammar and vocabulary understanding by accessing a range of different fictional texts.

Some student's have been looking into classical fairy tales during English this term.
We have been focusing on sequencing the story ' Little Red Riding Hood' from beginning to end, and working on our main character descriptions. This lesson we focused on the big bad wolf.
This week student's in KS2 have been using their practical skills to trim and shape the wood to use for different purposes.

We practised our fire skills, and even met a friendly robin along the way.

Our end of term KS2 forestry session went down a treat!
Home made smores using marshmallows and custard creams alongside a deliciously warm hot chocolate whilst enjoying being in the outdoors.
