Curriculum Overview

At Evolve Academy, we strive to ensure all of our students Evolve in their learning experiences. We encourage our students to enjoy and value the curriculum we deliver. We do not just ask students the HOW behind their learning but WHY. We encourage our learners to discuss, reflect and appreciate the impact computing has on their learning, development and well-being.

KS3 Computing Content+

Technology is everywhere and plays a pivotal part in students’ lives. Here at Evolve Academy we strive to model and educate our pupils on how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. Our bespoke curriculum encompasses computer science, information technology and digital literacy. We want our students to understand that there is always a choice with using technology and as a school, we utilise technology (especially social media) to model positive use. We recognise that the best prevention of many issues we currently see with technology and social media is through education. We recognise that technology can allow pupils to share their learning in creative ways. Our balanced, curriculum embeds programming and computer systems both fundamental skills for our learners; this provides our students with the opportunity to embed these skills and the ability to apply their knowledge and skills creatively.
